Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries on earth, with a population nearing 146 million and approximately 45 million people of those people living below the poverty line.
More than 750,000 people are blind with cataract accounting for 80% of these cases.
The main objective of The Foundation's Bangladesh District Eye Care Program is to develop a high quality and sustainable approach to eye health care by building the capacity of the eye health sector to treat and prevent blindness.
