The Fred Hollows Foundation has worked in Bangladesh since 1999. Support has been provided to Grameen Kaylan's mega eye clinic on an annual basis and donations of intraocular lenses have been provided to the National Institute of Ophthalmology for use in outreach clinics.
Funding has also been provided for training of ophthalmologists and other eye health personnel to attend training courses at Tilganga Eye Centre in Nepal.
Working in partnerships in other international and local non-government organisations, The Foundation has also contributed to the progression on National level plans for blindness prevention in Bangladesh.
