Local Partners

The Fred Hollows Foundation's Eastern Africa Regional Program's partners include the Chief Government Ophthalmologist, the Ministry of Health, the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital and Sight Savers International.

Chief Government Ophthalmologist
Any program concerning eye service delivery in Kenya needs to be approved by the Chief Government Ophthalmologist who then passes it on for approval to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and to the Director of Medical Services.

Final approval for the program within the Nakuru Eye Unit was provided by the Ministry of Health 
in Nairobi.

Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital Management Board
The program within the Nakuru Eye Unit falls directly under the administration of the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital.

Sight Savers International
The Nakuru Hospital Eye Unit was built by SSI and the intention is to run a comprehensive eye service centred around the Unit. SSI also supports the outreach services run from the Eye Unit.
