Our People

We'd like to introduce you to some of the people who are involved in the work of The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ and to those who are helped by our programs.

Local Partners

In Timor-Leste, The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ works with a local eye health NGO called Fo Naroman Timor-Leste - literally Give Sight Timor-Leste.

Fo Naroman Timor-Leste (FNTL) tests visions and dispenses high quality, low cost spectacles in eye clinics in the capital Dili.  It also plans to expand its services into remote rural communities to support of The Foundation's aim to bring sight to majority of Timor's population who live in rural areas.

Another focus for FNTL is community education to help people understand more about common eye problems and how to prevent them, and also how to access eye health services where they are available.

With nearly 90,000 people in Timor needing spectacles, and with half that number unable to pay even $1 for them, FNTL understands the challenges but it's committed to bringing sight to its people.
