World Sight Day was promoted throughout newspapers.

On 11 October 2007, The Fred Hollows Foundation Vietnam Program celebrated World Sight Day, o
rganising several activities in provinces where The Foundation's projects are operating.

Among those provinces, Binh Dinh province showed innovation organising a "Glaucoma day" to alert local people towards the symptoms and risks glaucoma. Lasting for 10 days, the event was remarkable with 2,000 patients screened and 200 patients treated.

In Quang Tri province, a speical "music and drama show of World Sight Day 2007" was held at the Centre of Social Disease Prevention.

It was a great effort by many provinces, with preparations starting in early October. The result from that effort was approximately 1,000 surgeries.
