Your generosity could make all the difference to someone living with avoidable blindness. Leaving a gift in your will is greatly appreciated by The Foundation and it will make a significant contribution to helping us change the lives of many around the world.
 

Different ways you can support The Foundation

Leaving a gift in your will can be done in a number of ways. Bequests can be made for The Foundation's general purposes or our international programs. If you’re unsure about the process, you may like to speak with your solicitor, trustee company or or the Official Solicitor and Public Trustee. 

The gift can take the form of:

  • the residue of the estate
  • a percentage of the estate
  • a specific amount of money
  • a life insurance or superannuation policy
  • assets such as shares, property, works of art, jewellery
  • an investment in perpetuity 

Suggested wording for your will

To make the process easier, here’s some suggested wording and our organisational details. You can take this to your solicitor or directly write this into your will if you are managing it yourself.

Suggested wording:

I give ________________ to one of the following nominated beneficiaries:
 
  • The Fred Hollows Foundation (UK) company number 07193829 / registered charity 1140288 for its general purposes.
  • The Fred Hollows Foundation (UK) company number 07193829 / registered charity 1140288 International Programs for general purposes. 
I declare that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer or other proper officer of the nominated beneficiary will be a full discharge for my trustees who will not be bound to see its application.

The Foundation is a partner in the World Health Organization initiative: VISION 2020 The Right to Sight, which aims to eradicate all forms of avoidable blindness by the year 2020.
