Workplace Giving - JB Hi Fi

Businesses of all shapes and sizes are achieving great results with workplace giving. Workplace Giving allows your employees to make small, regular donations to The Fred Hollows Foundation directly from their pre-tax pay. It is a simple, low cost and effective way to help restore sight and end avoidable blindness.

Providing a workplace giving option for your employees is a great way to actively contribute to your community, while also allowing your team to feel a greater sense of purpose at work.

Research has shown that companies which demonstrate a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility have staff that feel more engaged and motivated. In fact, the research shows that of those surveyed, 86 percent of employees say workplace giving makes them proud to work for their company (Good2Give’s Workplace Givers Revealed, 2016).

If you are considering setting up a workplace giving program, look no further than to JB Hi-Fi for inspiration. The company’s Helping Hands program, established in 2008, provides 12,000 employees the opportunity to donate to 10 charity partners through regular payroll donations. All donations are matched by the company and the program involves 81 per cent of staff. Incredibly, the program has generated more than $18 million so far for its charity partners.

JB Hi-Fi recently commissioned a report on the program, and discovered the positive impact of workplace giving on workplace culture, employee engagement and return on investment. It found that 91 per cent of staff felt proud to be a JB Hi-Fi employee and 76 per cent thought that workplace giving made JB Hi-Fi a better company to work for.

The Fred Hollows Foundation has proudly partnered with JB Hi-Fi for more than 10 years, with all donations going towards our sight-restoring work among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
