We invite you to join a coalition of businesses taking a stand against gender inequity in eye health.

Did you know, more than 140 million women around the world are blind or vision impaired?

Blindness discriminates. Women are 1.3 times more likely to be blind or vision impaired than men, and most significantly, four out of five of them don’t need to be blind, as their eye conditions can be easily prevented or treated.

The Fred Hollows Foundation is committed to closing the gender gap when it comes to avoidable blindness and unlocking the potential of millions of women and girls.

The She Sees Alliance is a membership based coalition, with your donation contributing towards ensuring women and girls have equal access to eye health.

Together, we can achieve this goal by:
  • Bringing quality eye care to the workplaces of tens of thousands of women, allowing them to continue working and supporting their families and communities.
  • Training women to become eye doctors, health workers and eye health professionals.
  • Providing free transport to eye health facilities to reduce geographical barriers and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Using community based outreach services to reach women in remote and rural villages where eye disease remains largely undiagnosed and untreated.
  • Integrating eye health services in maternal and reproductive health facilities to give pregnant women access to eye health screening.

Our She Sees Alliance Founding Partner, Mirenesse, has joined us as part of their commitment to improving the lives of women and girls around the world.
