Mackillop Street, AC/DC Lane, and Dame Edna Place. These are a few examples of Melbourne laneways that have been named after Australian icons.

Now we need your help to rename a Carlton laneway after another great Australian: Fred Hollows.

Fred Hollows laneway
Currently the laneway -  between 133 and 135 Leicester St in Carlton - is unnamed, unsigned and used infrequently. By renaming the laneway "Fred Hollows Lane" and decorating the walls with a mural, the laneway will come to life as a physical representation of all the issues that Fred Hollows so passionately believed in.

And we think Fred’s legacy deserves to be commemorated.

The City of Melbourne council considers community support a requirement for this kind of change, so if you'd like to see Fred's achievements celebrated, then sign our petition and let’s honour his work.
