The Foundation has restored sight to 521 people during a recent outreach microsurgical eye camp held in Satkhira district, Bangladesh.

The Institute of Ophthalmology in Bangladesh provided three surgical teams to conduct the eye clinic in the district, which is located in the very south-west corner of the country.

The camp has provided hope for many in a region that was heavily affected by the devastation of Cyclone Aila in May 2009.

In 2010 The Foundation’s program work in Bangladesh will officially move out of a three-year pilot phase and will be expanding into four districts.
