The Fred Hollows Foundation is reaching out to the community by launching our street fundraising team. It allows The Foundation to effectively engage the public with our efforts to end avoidable blindness worldwide and achieve the aim together.

More than 32 million people are blind worldwide and 4 out of 5 people who are blind don’t need to be. The Fred Hollows Foundation works to end avoidable blindness in more than 25 countries by training local doctors and health workers, building and upgrade facilities, and providing equipment to achieve long-term sustainable eye health care. We have restored sight to more than 2 million people.

For as little as HKD$150, individuals can join efforts and support the work of The Foundation to restore sight. Our research demonstrates that every $1 invested in restoring sight generates on average $4 economic return. The impact is enormous as it changes lives and the community.
The Foundation alone cannot make this happen. It is important to work collectively and share the message of the urgent need to tackle the increasing number of needlessly blind people in the Asia region, especially in mainland China, where 20% of the world’s blind live.
