The Fred Hollows Foundation Pakistan

Across Pakistan, nearly one in ten people are visually impaired, with more than two million blind in both eyes. Most of the population is based in remote areas, without access to health services.

Restoring sight in Pakistan

In Pakistan, hundreds of people go blind every day, often from preventable causes like cataract. People in Western countries have ready access to cataract surgery, but in Pakistan most people don't.

Since 1998, The Fred Hollows Foundation and its partners have halved the rate of blindness to 0.9 per cent. Our aim is to build up Pakistan’s existing health systems so that we can bring quality eye care services to every corner of the country.
