Ending Avoidable Blindness 

The Fred Hollows Foundation is driven by a diverse group of individuals across all areas of our work. These people include our Board, advisory groups, organizational leaders, and global ambassadors. They range from health leaders and sportspeople to high profile actors and influencers.

Many globally-renowned figures are using their profile to assist in our campaign to restore sight to the needlessly blind by signing up as Fred Hollows Foundation ambassadors.

These ambassadors include Hollywood actor Joel Edgerton, renowned Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, and eight time olympic medalist Susie O’Neill.

Meet Fred Hollows

Fred Hollows was a man who got things done. A passionate eye doctor and humanitarian, Fred always pushed for change and tackled injustice head on. In Australia, he fought for better Indigenous health and put into motion a legacy to end avoidable blindness around the world. Today The Fred Hollows Foundation works in more than 25 countries and has restored sight to over two million people worldwide.
