What if the world looked like this every day?
We invited three people to experience what it could be like to live with severe vision loss by wearing specially designed goggles that simulate approximately 20/200 vision.
Then we followed their journey.
From getting around and recognising faces to completing everyday tasks most of us rarely think twice about, the experience gave them a glimpse into how significantly vision loss can change someone's day.
Watch their journey and see the world through a different lens.
Imagine if you couldn't take the goggles off?
For our participants, this was an experience that lasted just one day. For millions of people around the world, significant vision loss is an everyday reality.
And for many, it could be prevented or treated with access to the right eye care.
See what’s possible when everyone can access eye care

A world where no one is needlessly blind
The Fred Hollows Foundation has restored sight to more than 3 million people around the world.
We work with local partners and health systems in more than 25 countries to prevent and treat avoidable blindness, train health workers and strengthen access to eye care.
We continue the work of the late Professor Fred Hollows, who believed everyone should have access to high-quality, affordable eye care, no matter where they live.
A vision for change
Facing a global eye health crisis, we’re committed to creating lasting change. With your support, just $25 can help restore sight and transform lives.

The eye health crisis
Right now, 1.1 billion people are living with vision loss that could have been prevented. The demand for eye care is growing rapidly, outpacing even the best efforts. This crisis hits the most vulnerable the hardest: those living in poverty, in remote areas, women and girls, and the elderly.

How we're tackling it
We’re focusing on a big-picture approach—investing in research and technology, training healthcare workers, and partnering with governments to make eye care accessible to everyone. By addressing the root causes of vision loss, we’re not just treating blindness—we’re preventing it.

You can help
We can’t solve this problem alone—we need you with us. By becoming a Visionary or making a donation today, you’ll help us train doctors, provide eye care in remote areas, and give the gift of sight to those who need it most.
“What we are doing is revolutionary, something the big health organisations aren’t doing. They send eye doctors. What we are doing is giving people the chance to help themselves. We are giving them independence.”
