For more than 30 years, The Fred Hollows Foundation has worked to make quality eye care accessible to people who need it most. Today, we work across more than 25 countries, partnering with communities, governments and local health services to improve eye health and build stronger systems for the long term.

What your partnership can help fund

Your partnership doesn’t fund a promise. It helps fund real eye care, training and services that make a lasting difference. From a community screening camp to training an eye health nurse or cataract surgeon, your support can help turn funding into practical action.

$250 a month

$3,000 over a year can help fund the training of an eye health nurse, plus a community eye screening camp for around 200 people. Trained local staff stay in their communities, providing care long after a single visit ends.

$500 a month

$6,000 over a year can help fund the training of three eye health nurses. Each one adds skills and capacity to a local health service, helping more people access eye care.

$1,000 a month

$12,000 over a year can help deliver 12 school eye screening camps, reaching more than 600 students.

Larger commitments

It costs around $50,000 to train a cataract surgeon. One surgeon can go on to restore sight to thousands of people throughout their career. If your business wants to make a larger commitment, we'll work with you to build a partnership around it.

Why support The Fred Hollows Foundation?

Our story began with one person who believed things could be different.

Australian ophthalmologist Fred Hollows dedicated his life to improving eye health and fighting for equal access to care. He believed that where you were born should not determine whether you could see.

In 1992, Fred established The Fred Hollows Foundation to continue this work. More than three decades later, his vision lives on through programs that work alongside local communities and health services to make eye care more accessible and sustainable.

What is a small business partnership?

A small business partnership is a way for Australian small and medium-sized businesses to support The Fred Hollows Foundation through regular giving and other forms of engagement.

What does my business support?

Your support helps fund eye health programs, including cataract surgery, treatment for eye disease, glasses, health worker training and stronger local eye health services.

Can my employees get involved?

Yes. Depending on your partnership, there may be opportunities for workplace fundraising, events and other activities.

What will my donation be used for?

Your donation will help The Fred Hollows Foundation restore sight and improve access to quality eye care in the countries where we work. This includes supporting eye operations and treatments, training surgeons and eye health workers, and building stronger, more sustainable eye health systems.

For every $1 donated, 75% goes directly towards eye health programs, 6% goes towards administration, and 19% is invested in fundraising. This investment helps us reach more people and generate more support for our work in the future.
