World Sight Day x Cheap Century (Tai Ma Sing & Run Grandma Run)

Magnify Kindness. Ignite Hope.

This year, Tai Ma Sing, Run Grandma Run and Freddy Bear are joining hands with you in support of World Sight Day.

From now until 31 October, every dollar you donate will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our corporate partners, doubling your impact and helping bring the gift of sight to more people in need.

More Than Double, More Than Vision

World Sight Day encourages everyone to #LoveYourEyes and raise awareness of eye health and avoidable blindness. Around the world, 9 out of 10 cases of blindness are preventable or treatable.

The Fred Hollows Foundation is once again partnering with popular Cheap Century characters Tai Ma Sing and Run Grandma Run, alongside Freddy Bear, to extend kindness further and create more opportunities for people to regain their sight.

From now until 31 October, every dollar you donate will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our corporate partners. Matching funds are available up to HK$1,000,000 – bringing the gift of sight to more families affected by blindness

Your generosity does more than restore sight — it helps restore:

  • Independence

  • Access to education

  • Employment opportunities

  • Hope for the future

Your support helps more people see the world again and pursue their dreams with confidence.

A Journey of Possibilities: One Moment Makes a Lifetime Difference

One Eye Surgeon for Every Million People

For families in Rwanda’s Western Province, reaching the Kabgayi Eye Unit means travelling around 300 kilometers and spending several days at the hospital. For those living on low incomes, the cost of transport, time away from work, and uncertainty about treatment can make seeking eye care an overwhelming challenge. Affordable basic eye care remains out of reach for many, even when the solution is simple and effective.

Make A Gift of Sight

Without timely care, the consequences can be devastating:

  • Their sight may never return, even though their condition is treatable.
  • Their safety is at risk every day, as they struggle to judge distance or avoid hazards.
  • Their futures narrow, as they fall behind in school, lose confidence, and their families sink deeper into a cycle of poverty.

This is the reality for children like Blaise – and it is preventable.

The Fred Hollows Foundation proudly joined the global #LoveYourEyes movement for World Sight Day, standing alongside partners worldwide to raise awareness of avoidable blindness and the importance of eye health.
